The first tasting notes of 2006
It’s a classic Bordeaux blend, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Following their success with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz, the folks at Little Penguin are trying their luck with Pinot Noir.

Hail a Cab
Inniskillin Okanagan's regional blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from various of their southern Okanagan vineyards–including the famed Dark Horse Vineyard but not the (other) famed (and very young) Bull Pine Vineyard. This is the inaugural vintage for the Kettle Valley 'Barber' Cabernet Sauvignon, and they couldn't have picked a better year for their debut than 2002, which is, simply put, a magical vintage for Okanagan Valley wine, as I’ve mentioned before.

Flights of wine, wines in flight…
In first and business classes, where drinks are still free, the quality and quantity is dropping aboard some carriers: Starting this past June, US Airways stopped serving Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which costs about $70, to its international business class passengers. Is a 2002 Brook Hollow Cabernet Sauvignon the best you can come up with?

Three Blind Moose Cabernet Sauvignon. Veramonte Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemakers Notes: This is the first bottling of our estate-grown "Home Ranch." In the opulent 2001 vintage, we selected cabernet sauvignon from the thirty-five-year-old vines, balancing it with merlot from the younger blocks for this rich, sensuous wineâ??classic, yet more approachable than the long-aging Monte Bello.

If There's a Chicken on the Label…
My husband and I were invited to Christmas dinner at a friend’s house a couple of years ago and she asked us to bring some wine that would go with prime rib. This called for a Cabernet Sauvignon.

Good and bad surprises from the cellar
This Cabernet Sauvignon has always been known for its excellent quality-price ratio but not specifically for its ability to age.
